Summary

PythonShell is designed to run locally in the user's browser. The free Python console runs locally. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or store your Python code, console history, or usage activity from the Chrome extension.

What PythonShell does

PythonShell provides a local Python workspace inside Chrome. Code entered into the extension is processed on the user's device.

Data collection

PythonShell does not collect browsing history, authentication data, payment card data, health data, location data, personal communications, or Python code for remote processing through the extension. If you activate an optional Pro membership, the extension may check paid status through ExtensionPay and Stripe to confirm that the membership is active.

Local storage

The extension may store local preferences, Pro status cache, or console history in the browser on the user's device to improve the user experience. This information remains local unless the user explicitly exports or shares it.

Remote code and telemetry

PythonShell is intended to operate without remote code execution for its core experience and does not rely on telemetry to track extension usage.

Optional Pro membership validation

If you use Pro, the extension may contact ExtensionPay to check paid status through Stripe. This is used only to unlock paid Pro features. Your Python code, console history, and local workspace are not sent with that request.

Third-party sharing

We do not sell user data. For optional Pro purchases and paid-status validation, payment and subscription information may be handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe.

Website interactions

If you contact us through email or otherwise submit information through the website, separate website-specific and payment-provider handling may apply to that voluntary submission.

Children's privacy

PythonShell is a coding tool and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Policy updates

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page before any new data practices take effect.
